Cycling trips are a wonderful opportunity not only for active recreation but also for discovering interesting places in Poland. The infrastructure of cycling routes is increasingly developing, making it easier for tourists to reach both well-known and less popular attractions. Which routes are currently the most famous and picturesque? We present the most interesting cycling routes in Poland.
EASTERN CYCLING ROUTE - GREEN VELO
The Eastern Cycling Route Green Velo is currently the longest, coherently marked cycling route in Poland. It spans 2095 kilometres and connects five provinces in the eastern part of the country. Its route passes through the provinces of Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Lublin, Subcarpathian, and Świętokrzyskie. Thanks to it, you can visit five national parks and sixteen landscape parks, as well as cities like Leżajsk, Sandomierz, and Włodawa. Many other shorter cycling routes—municipal or connecting—branch off from Green Velo, which combined create a true network of cycling trails in the east of the country. Along the route, there are over 500 tourist-friendly spots where you can rest, eat, spend the night, and continue your journey. Due to the small number of climbs, it is classified as a route of medium difficulty.

VELO DUNAJEC
The route of this trail runs through the exceptionally picturesque areas of the Dunajec Valley, with extraordinary panoramas of the Beskids, Tatra Mountains, and Pieniny. The trail begins in Zakopane and ends in Wietrzychowice. The total length of Velo Dunajec is 237 kilometres and due to many climbs, it is a challenging route. A part of the trail includes a section around Lake Czorsztyn, where you can see, among other things, the Castle in Niedzica and remarkable mountain panoramas.

THE TRAIL OF A HUNDRED LAKES IN GREATER POLAND
This route is approximately 110 kilometres long. It begins in Poznań and leads to Szamotuły, Sieraków, finishing in Międzychód. Along the way, you can see charming corners of the Greater Poland province along with the titular lakes from the Greater Poland Lake District. There are not many climbs, and thus it is classified as a route of medium difficulty.

CYCLING ROUTE ALONG THE BALTIC - STAGE OF ROUTE R10
The R10 cycling route is an international trail around the Baltic Sea with a total length of about 8500 kilometres. The Polish section of this route is about 580 kilometres long and passes through the provinces of Warmian-Masurian, Pomeranian, and West Pomeranian. Along the route, you can visit Woliński and Słowiński National Parks as well as the Hel Peninsula, among others. The lack of significant elevation changes indicates the average difficulty of the route.
MAZOVIAN CYCLING ROUTE
An interesting proposal for residents of Warsaw and its surroundings. It forms a loop - starting and ending in the Warsaw district of Wawer. Over a length of approximately 80 kilometres, you can see among others Otwock, Czersk, and Konstancin-Jeziorna. It is an excellent option for a weekend getaway, and the route can be completed in one day with proper preparation.
Cycling routes in Poland are being created at an impressive pace. They are established by municipalities and other administrative units with their own funds and with the help of subsidies from European Union funds. There are also large projects like Green Velo, connecting several provinces. Along the routes, culinary and accommodation spots are emerging, allowing tourists to traverse entire trails. Cycle tourism in Poland is undoubtedly flourishing and allows for combining active leisure with the opportunity to discover interesting places in Poland.
