Władysławowo
Władysławowo is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Polish coast. This is no surprise, as this small town offers tourists a well-prepared infrastructure, beautiful wide beaches, and happily shares the story of its success as what was once a small fishing village.
Władysławowo: what to see?
The history of Władysławowo dates back to the 12th century and the Great Village, which is the basis for today's town, home to approximately 10,000 residents. An important figure in the history of the town is General Haller, who boarded a fishing vessel here on February 11, 1920, and completed the marriage of Poland to the sea (the official marriage took place the day before in Puck, but it was here that the white-and-red flag first flew on the Baltic after 123 years). While in Władysławowo, one must take a walk to the port, where there is a huge historical mural entitled "History Begun in the Sea," depicting the most important events that show the development of the town.
Additionally, at Morska Street, you can find the former home of the general, now a museum known as Hallerówka. When considering what to visit in Władysławowo, it is worth checking the town's website, which has prepared not only interesting guides for tourists but also outdoor games (the fish trail and the mystery of the park) and the "Discover the History" trail (in selected locations, you can find QR codes leading to audiobooks about the history of Władysławowo).
Władysławowo and surroundings — attractions
One of the most well-known attractions in Władysławowo is the Sports Stars Avenue, which has commemorated outstanding Polish athletes from all disciplines since 2000. Additionally, you can admire the "Crown of the Himalayas" monument here, which features the names of Polish climbers. Another characteristic place that is definitely worth visiting is the Fisherman's House Tower, from which there is a wonderful view of Władysławowo and its surroundings. You can clearly see the port (one of the largest on the Polish coast) and the Hel Peninsula.
Of course, there is no shortage of commercial attractions around, but it is also worth mentioning that nearby Jastrzębia Góra has a lighthouse. Władysławowo is well connected to Hel and Tricity, which can be reached by train.
Władysławowo: is it worth going?
Yes! It is definitely worth going to Władysławowo, even outside the holiday season. If you run out of ideas for spending your free time, be sure to visit the local tourist information point, where the friendly staff will suggest what is worth seeing in the area.
