Spring by the Sea in Poland – why it's worth going off-season?
No hustle, crowds, machines, and problems finding a spot on the beach? Sounds like paradise, and all it takes is a trip to the Baltic Sea off-season. Coastal resorts seem to be submerged in a winter slumber. Spring is simply perfect for this.
How about going to the sea?
Although spring weather can be capricious, it is still a time when the sky has more sunshine, temperatures become increasingly pleasant, and, above all, we can once again enjoy the vibrant colours of the flourishing greenery. In such circumstances, one is eager to travel! Fortunately, Poland boasts many beautiful places, and one of the most enchanting is, of course, the Baltic Sea.
The best places to stay by the Baltic Sea in spring
Any place is good, but in spring, it will be much quieter everywhere than in summer. You must take this into account. In the mountains, there isn't as much disparity between the high and low seasons (it's often said that the season in the mountains lasts all year round). The smallest seaside towns may seem almost deserted, and it may be challenging to find even an open restaurant.
It is therefore safer to choose larger resorts that remain lively even off-season. Among the most popular are Świnoujście, Kołobrzeg, Ustka, Łeba, Władysławowo, and the Tri-City. Here, you will easily find accommodation ranging from guesthouses to hotels, and you won't have trouble locating open dining establishments.
On the other hand, small towns have their charm too. If you need some serious quietude, it is worth considering such a stay, but in that case, it’s best to choose accommodation with meals included or an apartment with a kitchen.
Why it's worth going to the sea in spring
The sight of the turbulent sea and the sound of the waves captivate regardless of the season (at least for me). Besides the peace and quiet, the Baltic Sea primarily offers a high amount of iodine in the air, which is incredibly valuable for our health. There will be the most in winter, but in spring it still remains at a high level, and the weather is already much more pleasant, with less risk that your stay will occur during a stormy period.
One of the key arguments for a spring trip to the sea is also the economic factor. Prices for accommodation at this time will be incomparably lower than in summer. If you are not keen on sunbathing, it is worth opting for a stay by the sea precisely in spring. All that is left is to shout: “Ahoy adventure!” and head to the Baltic.
