Kolejkowo
What is it like shopping for toys for children? Is it not the case that dads buy toys for their sons that they themselves would like to receive? How many big boys wished to find an electric train set under the Christmas tree? Not to worry. You just need to head to Wrocław, where every big and small boy and girl can experience a real adventure. We're talking about Kolejkowo, a large living exhibition of electric trains.
The entire exhibition is located in one of Wrocław's office buildings, where you can also go up to the observation tower, from which the whole city is visible in detail. At the entrance to the exhibition area, there are cloakrooms, a souvenir shop, and a snack kiosk. The exhibition impresses with its scale, and from the entrance, you can notice the changing lights in sync with the moving trains. The interior is constructed in such a way that visitors must make their way around the barriers on both sides. The dioramas through which the trains move depict, among other things, the Old Town of Wrocław, the mountains of Lower Silesia, a view of Śnieżka, as well as scenes from the era of the Polish People's Republic – including the emergency start of a Fiat 126p, refueling at a petrol station, and many others. The scenery showcases scenes from daily life in a store and at a construction site. There are also hidden scenes that can only be seen in the windows of buildings when night falls in Kolejkowo.
The characters are incredibly realistic, and the organizers have ensured that visitors do not get bored. The staff hands out special cards at the start, which contain tasks to complete. These involve finding a specific number of rats, cats on rooftops, or a particular banknote. This encourages looking closely at all the scenes and playing detective. The hunt involves not only the children, as sometimes it seems that the parents are more eager to uncover all the mysteries.
During the Christmas season, there is an additional exhibition to visit – very sweet and fragrant. The creators invite you into a winter wonderland made of gingerbread. The buildings are made from gingerbread blocks, covered in icing and other decorations. Just step behind the barriers and enjoy the treats. However, the staff is vigilant to ensure no one tries such a thing. At the end of the visit, there is a souvenir shop, through which the path leads to the exit.
The entire exhibition impresses everyone, which can be seen in the expressions and comments of those leaving. It is worth mentioning that you can spend more time there to better familiarize yourself with the magic of this place. Kolejkowo also allows for a moment of relaxation with coffee and a snack. There is a toilet available on site. So if you are looking for a place to feel like a child or to go on a family outing, this is a highly recommended option. The Tourist Voucher is accepted.
