Waterfall on the Deer
While visiting the Roztocze region near Suśc, it is worth not only visiting the popular "Szumy" on the Tanew River but also seeing the largest waterfall in the area, commonly known as Jelenek. The charm of the surrounding nature will certainly reward the additional walk.
The Jeleń River is a right tributary of the Tanew. It is exceptionally clean, as evidenced by the presence of trout, among other species. It is primarily known for having the highest river rock threshold in the area of the "Szumy nad Tanwią" Nature Reserve, which is about 1.5 meters high and approximately 9 meters wide. It can be reached via a trail from Huta Szumy - about 1.5 kilometres or from Suśc - a trail of about 5 kilometres. An interesting fact is its location near the junction of the Lublin and Subcarpathian Voivodeships. Due to its qualities, it is eagerly visited by photographers and painters.
