Bieszczady National Park
Bieszczady National Park - 1 of 23 National Parks in Poland. The third largest by area after Biebrza National Park and Kampinos National Park. It covers an area of approximately 29,176 ha. It was established in 1973 and became part of the International Biosphere Reserve as "Eastern Carpathians" in 1992. The Park's headquarters is located in Ustrzyki Górne. A unique feature of Bieszczady National Park is the alpine meadows - grassy ridges located above the tree line. Characteristic of the Park are the presence of animals such as the wolf, brown bear, Eurasian lynx, smooth snake, Aesculapian snake, and the lynx, which is the symbol of the Park. Numerous hiking trails run through the area, and both the Bieszczady Mountains and Bieszczady National Park are frequently visited by tourists, especially those who appreciate natural wonders, tranquility, and beautiful views. Each year, more than 200,000 tourists visit.
