Queen Louise Mine in Zabrze
Do you have children who play Minecraft? Maybe you play yourself, creating your own world or trying to survive in the world of Creepers? To immerse yourself in the role of Steve, take a trip to the Queen Louise Mine in Zabrze. This is another industrial site in Zabrze where you can learn about the history of former mining. The access to the site leads through slightly smaller streets, but it can be reached without major problems. The parking area is quite spacious and free. As you walk to the main building, you can admire the drilling machines that were once in use. The interior looks modern, and there is also a souvenir shop. At certain times, groups of children with their guardians gather.
The guide, after fitting hard hats, explains the safety conditions for moving underground. Upon crossing the threshold, you feel a completely different air - damp and cooler. The program is designed for young gamers, as everywhere you look is filled with characters and items from the iconic game. The tour's script tells a story with a touch of mystery in such a way that as you proceed, you anticipate what may happen next. The next chambers are full of artifacts, but also puzzles related to coding. There are also dimly lit places where participants must target goals with bags. Along the way, you also collect essential equipment for the most important task - digging out your piece of coal. It is a true lesson in mining where a child can step into the role of a real miner with a pickaxe in hand. To act effectively, they must also wear a miner's headlamp. The biggest trophy is this symbolic piece of "black gold" that you can take home as a keepsake.
During the expedition, the guide activates rock-drilling machines, showing how extraction once looked. Another educational element is the mineral exhibition, where each one can be held in hand. The adventure culminates in a ride on the underground train - a little train. Each carriage is very small and has tiny windows. Despite the relatively low speed, it is impressive. After reaching the end, the children are thrilled but somewhat dirty. Learning that it is already the end, they are a bit disappointed. It is so interesting that they would like more. A perfect place for children - regardless of the weather.
