Castle in Ogrodzieniec
The legendary Castle in Ogrodzieniec is situated on the highest elevation of the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura – Castle Hill, which rises to 515.5 m above sea level.
Its origins date back to the 14th century, and it is worth exploring its long and interesting history.
Conservation work aimed at preserving the monument's values and making it accessible to visitors began in 1949 and was completed in 1973.
Currently, interesting exhibitions featuring thematic props (weapons, armor, everyday items) and a torture chamber can be seen in the castle.
Mass events are held here. The ruins have served multiple times as film sets, including for the productions "Janosik", "The Knight", and "The Revenge" by Andrzej Wajda.
