The most popular spa towns in Poland
We are increasingly aware of how important the time we spend on rest is for our well-being and health. With the New Year, many of us have resolved to take better care of ourselves. It's no secret that investing in our health is the best investment we can make. Relaxing massages, thermal pools, and various types of saunas are just some of the pleasures that help the body enter a state of regeneration. Where in Poland can we treat ourselves to a bit of relaxation? Holidu, a search engine for apartments and holiday homes, decided to analyse which cities in Poland are the most popular when we need a moment of relaxation. Here is our ranking of the Top 10 cities where we can unwind and take care of ourselves.
1. Warsaw
In first place in our ranking is Warsaw. Here we will find countless options when it comes to relaxation and spa treatments. Warsaw boasts both hotels that offer professional services and beauty institutes, cosmetic salons, and water parks with spa treatments, making it perfect for a family relaxation trip. Busy individuals can take advantage of day spa offers, many of which are located right in the city centre. If you want to briefly immerse yourself in the exotic atmosphere of Bali, we recommend visiting Mr and Mrs SPA, while an attractive offer that is sure to catch the interest of gentlemen can be found at the Beer Spa.
2. Kraków
In second place in our ranking is Kraków. The rich wellness offerings of this city encourage us to choose Kraków for a relaxing weekend with family, as a couple, or solo! We recommend Leśne Spa, which will transport you to a wonderful atmosphere close to nature and offers treatments such as floral baths, couples massages, and rituals. Kraków is also home to the Beer Spa, especially for men, where you can relax with a beer massage or arrange an unforgettable bachelorette or bachelor party.
3. Wrocław
Wrocław completes the podium, offering many relaxation areas both in hotels and wellness clinics. A session in a salt cave, Finnish sauna, or perhaps a package for two? Regardless of what you choose, a spa session will quickly eliminate stress and fatigue. An interesting place to visit is Green Tea Spa, which offers cosmetic and skincare treatments. For fans of pool relaxation, we recommend visiting the bathing area at the Monopol hotel.
4. Poznań
Just off the podium is Poznań, where you can find everything you need to relax. Aromatherapy, saunas, and fitness classes in the pool are all offered by the Spalarnia venue in Poznań. The modernity of this place makes it one of the most intriguing spa locations on the map of this city. In spring and summer, it's pleasant to take a relaxing walk through the beautiful Sołacki Park or by the Rusałka.
5. Katowice
If relaxation in Katowice comes to mind, we think of a place that in summer is an oasis for relaxation and meeting friends. We’re talking about the picturesque Valley of Three Ponds, where you will feel like you are on holiday. If you are looking for a professional spa, the Odnova offers a full relaxation package - floating, saunas, hyperbaric treatments, couples therapies, and beauty treatments.
6. Gdańsk
Where to relax in Gdańsk? If the weather allows, the beach is the perfect place, and when we want to put ourselves in the hands of experts in beauty and regenerating treatments, an interesting place is Five Senses. It’s one of the day spas in Gdańsk that offers both classic treatments and floating sessions. The Yasumi spa also looks promising, where we can enjoy, among other things, Japanese rituals.
7. Zakopane
Another city in our ranking is Zakopane, one of the most beloved tourist spots in Poland, at any time of the year, especially in winter. Who doesn’t dream of an evening in a spa after a day of snowy madness on the slopes? Here we will find exceptionally luxurious hotels with extensive spa facilities. We particularly recommend the spa area at Belvedere Hotel, Kasprowy, and Nosalowy Dwór. And if you are in Zakopane with the whole family, the kids will be delighted with a visit to the Zakopane Aquapark in the very heart of the city.
8. Łódź
Our ranking for leisure and relaxation also includes Łódź. If you want to try something new and truly relaxing, the Łódź Floating Centre would be the ideal place. A floating session is an incredibly relaxing bath in a special capsule filled with Epsom salt water. This allows the body to effortlessly float on the surface while entering a state of relaxation. To get some fresh air and clear your head, it’s worth visiting the picturesque Jana ponds.
9. Karpacz
In the next position is Karpacz. Located at the foot of Śnieżka, it attracts tourists both in summer for mountain hikes and in winter for all-day skiing. Here you will find many beautiful mountain villas and guesthouses with dedicated spa sections. We were particularly impressed by the Gołębiewski Hotel and the Dziki Potok hotel. Both places boast breathtaking mountain views. In Karpacz, you will also find numerous wellness facilities, sanatoriums for seniors, and rehabilitation centres.
10. Kołobrzeg
Our ranking ends with Kołobrzeg. Considering the location of Kołobrzeg and its seaside climate, just the sound of the waves or a walk along the beach will make all the worries of everyday life fade away. You can find ideal places for massages, treatments, and professional care at Arka Medical Spa or at Hotel Aquarius. In summer, it's worth renting bikes and exploring the surroundings. Numerous rehabilitation and leisure facilities in Kołobrzeg provide ideal conditions for relaxation for people of all ages.
Methodology
This ranking was developed based on data collected by Holidu, a search engine for apartments and holiday homes in February 2022, considering all cities in Poland. For each city, we analysed the volume of Google searches over the last 12 months for the phrases "Spa in [city name]" and “Massage in [city name]”. Finally, we summed the search volumes for each city and created a ranking of the Top 10 most popular spa cities in Poland.
