Hyćka Restaurant
It is no secret that the cuisine of Greater Poland revolves around potatoes. The locals know it, tourists know it, and restaurateurs, particularly those in Poznań, know it too. Dishes made with potatoes can be enjoyed almost on every corner. However, it is worth looking a bit beyond the usual to find a truly exceptional potato and pair it with some elderflower syrup tea. Sounds promising? Then we invite you to "Hyćka".
It’s easy to find this place. Just step off the beaten path, leave the centre, and head to Rynek Śródecki, where at number 17 you will find "Hyćka". You can already indulge in Greater Polish cuisine at its finest. All you need to do is place an order. And there is plenty to choose from, including potatoes with cheese, duck with dumplings and red cabbage, and pork goulash with potato noodles. A dizzying array of flavours. One can seek refuge from it with the fantastic staff, who are attentive, listen, advise, and if necessary – modify the dish. They will also remind you that everything on your plate should be sweetened with elderflower syrup. After all, how can you be in "Hyćka" and not try the elderflower syrup? There’s no option for that. Especially since hyćka, or elderflower syrup, is a local product made on-site by the owners themselves, according to their own recipe. It not only tastes fantastic but is also an ideal remedy for autumn gloom. Just add it to your tea, and the world becomes a more beautiful place. And when potatoes appear on your plate in various forms – no weather can scare you.
