Dunajec
The Dunajec - the most beautiful mountain river in Poland, with a length of 247 km, originates from the confluence of the Biały Dunajec and Czarny Dunajec near Nowy Targ. The most spectacular section is the gorge through the Pieniny mountains, and further downstream, the stretch from Krościenko is impressive, surrounded by towering forests and the peaks of the Beskid Sądecki and Gorce mountains. In summer, famous rafting trips take place here, starting on the Czarny Dunajec. At the end of May, the largest kayaking event in Poland occurs: the International Kayak Rafting on the Dunajec, which has its roots in the traditions of the 1930s. The kayaking route spans 202 km, leading from Nowy Targ to the Jesuit Mouth. In the attached photographs, the Dunajec is frozen, dressed in a raw winter garb. We will definitely return here again in the summer :)
