American Pond in Złoty Potok
The American Pond in Złoty Potok - originally, the American Pond was named "Pond of Bitter Tears," thanks to the poet Zygmunt Krasiński, who mourned the death of his 4-year-old daughter Elżbietka here. By the end of the 19th century, the Raczyński family changed the name of the pond to Amerykan, in honour of an American senator who brought a breeding batch of rainbow trout eggs from America to Złoty Potok.
In the summer, there is an active rope park and a bike rental available here. The green trail leads to the springs of the Parkowe Reserve, and in the opposite direction, you can reach the Raczyński Palace and the Krasiński Manor. There is also a camping site, beach volleyball courts, and the Złoty Potok meadows, where outdoor events take place - the Trout Festival, the Jura Film Summer, fishing competitions, and a gold panning contest. The pond serves the local community and tourists as a wild swimming area. It is home to the most beautiful viewpoint of the Golden Trout Land, offering a stunning view of the Wiercica Valley.
