Zborów Reserve
The Nature Reserve of Góra Zborów is an inanimate nature reserve located in the village of Podlesice in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland region. The summit of the mountain, topped with a triangulation tower built during the Nazi occupation, offers a splendid viewing point - the highest elevation at 462 metres above sea level. The entire area forms a fascinating complex of limestone rock formations, caves, and karst depressions. Within the reserve, there is also a currently closed quarry, where forced labourers from the Third Reich once worked; this site was also the scene of clashes between the German gendarmerie and units of the People’s Army and Peasant Battalions.
Today, on the slopes, there are rock formations reaching heights of up to 30 metres, with walls covered by a dense network of climbing routes.
