Peppers Mountains Reserve
The Pieprzowe Mountains Reserve is a nature reserve covering an area of 18 hectares, located near Sandomierz. It was established in 1979 and constitutes the largest natural Rosarium in Europe. Geologically, it is composed of very old rocks known as slate. The sediments of the slate resemble the shape and colour of pepper, hence the name of the reserve. The Pieprzowe Mountains Reserve is situated on picturesque hills, about 200 metres high, overlooking the Vistula River. From the reserve, one can see an excellent panorama of Sandomierz. It is an important tourist attraction and an extremely interesting place in Poland.
When going to the mountains, even low ones, it is worth purchasing travel insurance.
