Czorsztyn Castle
The Czorsztyn Castle - currently the ruins of a 14th-century Gothic castle, situated on a limestone hill overlooking the picturesque Czorsztyn Lake. It is located within the Pieniny National Park. It consists of three parts: the lower, middle, and upper castle, creating what is referred to as a permanent ruin. On the opposite side, overlooking the lake's bank, stands the legendary medieval castle in Niedzica. There is a path leading to the Czorsztyn Castle from the centre of Czorsztyn, which takes about 15 minutes to walk. A brief tour of the ruins takes about 30 minutes, but it’s worth descending to the Dunajec River to view the castle from the lakeside, as well as the lake itself, which appears very striking.
