Table Mountain Attractions
Travelling from Kłodzko towards the Czech border, in the direction of Kudowa-Zdrój, almost every town you pass has enormous tourist value and the entire region is bursting with worthwhile attractions to see. In addition to the titular mountains, there are spa resorts and places with interesting history. Let's check what is worth seeing on the occasion of a trip to this area.
At the edge of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, not far from Kudowa-Zdrój, a particularly picturesque range of the Table Mountains stretches along the border with the Czech Republic. The history of their uplift dates back 30 million years. These are rarely occurring plate-structured mountains in Europe, and the rocks found here create remarkable shapes and corridors. They are part of the Table Mountain National Park and attract hundreds of tourists each year.
MAIN ATTRACTIONS OF THE TABLE MOUNTAINS AND SURROUNDINGS:
- Błędne Skały - an extraordinary rock trail that forms a labyrinth. The sightseeing route is laid out in the form of a loop. The whole complex covers an area of about 21 hectares. At the end of the tour, we wander along the Czech border. You can reach Błędne Skały from the Road of a Hundred Turns, which leads from Karłów to Kudowa-Zdrój. Access to the mountain is organized in a shuttle manner.
- Szczeliniec Wielki - like Błędne Skały, it is a picturesque rock trail, also set up for tourists in a loop format. Szczeliniec Wielki is the highest peak of the Table Mountains at 919 meters above sea level. Along the way, you can admire unique rock formations - including the 'małpolud', a cradle, sculptures, and rock mushrooms. The hike starts and ends from the car park in Karłów.
- Kudowa-Zdrój - the jewel spa of this region. The resort specializes in heart diseases and cardiological issues. There is a large Spa Park with picturesque alleys and richly adorned vegetation. Another unique attraction is the Skull Chapel in nearby Czermna. The chapel is entirely built from human remains. Such chapels exist only in Europe.
- Duszniki-Zdrój - another spa in this magical region. An attraction worth seeing is the Museum of Papermaking and the historic market square. For winter sports enthusiasts, there is a skiing complex in Zieleńiec.
- Wambierzyce - a town at the foot of the Table Mountains, primarily known as a place of worship and pilgrimage. Here lies the Sanctuary of the Wambierzyce Queen of Families, called Silesian Jerusalem. Around the Sanctuary, there is a Calvary, and opposite it, there is an interesting Museum of Historical Devices, collecting, among other things, antique music boxes.
- Polanica-Zdrój - a spa town famous for its healing and mineral waters. Full of parks, gardens, and greenery - all of this creates an extraordinary microclimate, making it worth stopping here for a longer time.
The Table Mountains and the nearby towns and villages are full of interesting places worth visiting. The entire region complements itself wonderfully, offering a range of attractions for both active tourism and relaxation and rest.
