English Spisz for Everyone [#01]
Living in a country by the Vistula River has the advantage of having all possible geographical and tourist attractions within easy reach. Water, mountains, lakes, monuments, mountain trails, cycling routes, and attractions for the youngest. You just need to choose the right direction and hit the road. The problem arises when you want to experience various activities in one trip. Then you have to head south. To Polish Spisz.
Few people associate this name with a beautiful and diverse area. It stretches between the Polish-Slovak border, the Białka River (to the west and north), and the Dunajec River (to the northeast). In the Polish Spisz region, there are 14 villages, including gems like Niedzica with its famous castle and its resident Brunhilda, Łapszanka with its unforgettable panorama of the Tatra Mountains, and Frydman with its distinctive church tower.
Those who love hiking and cycling trips, as well as fans of Nordic walking, will not get bored here. The mountainous yet friendly terrain encourages long walks, and well-marked trails allow for exploration without a map. Cyclists will be pleased with the newly established VeloDunajec trail running through these picturesque areas. Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy relaxing in Niedzica, by Lake Czorsztyn. There, you can not only sunbathe and use water equipment but also take a cruise on a sightseeing boat.
The region also offers a range of attractions for history and art lovers. Besides the mentioned Niedzica castle, it is worth visiting charming old churches, the unique "sypańce" of Kacwin, and with a bit of luck, listen to a concert during the "Baroque in Spisz" festival.
As you can see, there are many possibilities. So, head south to Polish Spisz!
