Rainbow Trout Farm in Dubie
In the heart of the Kraków-Częstochowa Uplands, surrounded by forests and mountainous landscapes, lies an extraordinary place – Pstrągarnia Rózin in Dubie. This charming location not only tempts with the taste of fish dishes but also transports us to a place where tradition intertwines with modernity.
History
Pstrągarnia Rózin continues a tradition that dates back to 1850, when Count Potocki, captivated by the beauty of this place, commissioned the creation of a fish farm. The initiator of this venture was Dr. Jan Radziwoński, and the name "Rózin" comes from Potocki's granddaughter's name. It was here, in picturesque Dubie, that the first fish farm in Poland and Central Europe was established. Visiting Pstrągarnia Rózin, we pass through the gates of time, uncovering the secrets of past eras that have become part of the history of this unique place. The historic Swiss-style building, dating from the second half of the 19th century, witnesses not only the past but also the present flourishing of this extraordinary fishery.
Cave of Love
During your visit, it’s worth stopping by the mysterious "Cave of Love." Carved into the limestone rock in the 19th century, it not only emanates history but also boasts a spring of pure drinking water. This is a place where nature intertwines with human creativity, creating an extraordinary attraction within the Pstrągarnia Rózin.
Culinary Journey of Flavour
Pstrągarnia Rózin is not only a historical site but also a place full of amazing flavours. The restaurant, located near the historic building, is renowned for its exceptional fish dishes. Trout from its own farm is served in various versions – from grilled to smoked – always guaranteeing unique taste experiences. While visiting, be sure to try some extraordinary desserts too. The menu includes delicious fish soup and fresh baguettes with trout spread. The fish burger, served with trout fillet, pickled cucumber, red onions, and sauce, is an absolute hit on the menu. In addition to exceptional flavours, Pstrągarnia also offers lodgings for rent and a sauna, making it not just a place for a culinary journey, but also an ideal spot for recreation and relaxation.
Pstrągarnia Rózin is not only a gastronomic feast but also a trip through time, with the central focus being the history of the first fish farm in Poland. It is a place where tradition and flavour merge, creating an unforgettable experience for the senses and the soul.
