Lake Międzybrodzkie
The crystal clear mountain Międzybrodzkie Lake is a reservoir on the Sole River, which was created in 1937 after the construction of the Porąbka Dam.
The lake has a capacity of 26.6 million m³ of water and a surface area of 3.8 km². The length of the lake is approximately 5 km. The lake serves recreational purposes, and around it are located two holiday villages, Międzybrodzie Bialskie and Międzybrodzie Żywieckie, equipped with full tourist infrastructure.
The lake is home to a wide variety of fish species: pike, trout, bream, chub, catfish, zanders, carp, roach, perch...
In Międzybrodzie Bialskie, as every year, the “Sea Festival” will take place from July 1 to 2. The event aims to highlight Poland's connections with the sea; the idea for organising this celebration originated in 1936 when the dam in Porąbka was built. It was decided then that this event would take place annually by the Międzybrodzkie reservoir. This year's program will include, among other things, REGATTA on the lake, fishing competitions, concerts, tastings of local specialties, a football tournament, and fireworks displays. Admission is free.
