Bory Tucholskie
Although many of us crave attractions, crowds, and parties during the holidays, some prefer to disconnect from the world and spend their vacation surrounded by nature. For them, the Tuchola Forest is an ideal choice.
The Tuchola Forest is one of the largest forests in Poland.
Stretching across the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships, this forest has much to offer – after all, it covers an impressive 300 thousand hectares! Within its boundaries, you can find several National Parks, including the Tuchola Forest National Park. These are pine forests that have remained virtually untouched by humans. The Park is home to many lakes and rivers, as well as some of the oldest trees in Poland, including the Bartuś oak.
The Tuchola Forest is also home to many species of animals and plants. During long excursions, one can encounter deer, hares, many species of birds, and butterflies. It is a great place for both hiking and cycling trips.
Within the forests, you’ll find many charming guesthouses and agritourism farms, as well as luxurious hotels. Depending on your preferences, you can enjoy beautiful landscapes from a hammock or from a jacuzzi.
The Tuchola Forest is not just forests...
...it also includes towns. If you tire of the company of trees and deer and wish to experience some culture or explore the region's gastronomy, there are many beautiful towns nearby. It’s worth mentioning Chojnice with its beautiful Old Town. Other options include Człuchów and Grudziądz, which would be perfect for a day trip. If you want to combine wandering through the forest with a seaside vacation, remember that the Tricity is just an hour to the north. An ideal starting point!
