Reserve - Mount Sobień
Following the road from Załuż to Lesko, we will come across a reserve situated on a hill, featuring the ruins of a castle and a viewpoint offering an extraordinary panorama of the San Valley. This is the "Góra Sobień" Reserve, a historic castle hill covered in forest and interesting flora.
The reserve is located in the Słonne Mountains, specifically in the Słonne Mountains Landscape Park. Administratively, it lies within the village of Manasterzec. It was established in 1970 and spans 5.43 hectares. A small forest parking area situated along the Załuż - Lesko route, which runs parallel to the San River, invites visitors with informational boards and a footbridge marking the beginning of the trail. The trail itself is a short, a few-minute climb to a height of 360 metres above sea level. At the top, there are the ruins of the castle with a viewing terrace from which a breathtaking view of the meandering San unfolds. On the way up, we pass through a diverse forest with extremely rich vegetation. The entire ascent and descent may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. Therefore, it is worth stopping here, even for a moment, during a trip to the Bieszczady.
