1. ZWIERZYNIEC – this small town located in the very heart of Roztocze, despite its modest size, offers an incredibly rich palette of experiences. It is a place where nature, history, and culture meet in harmonious balance – and for this reason, it is worth visiting. It is often referred to as the “green lungs of Roztocze,” and for good reason. Here is located the headquarters of the Roztocze National Park – one of the most valuable natural areas in Poland. Dense beech and fir forests, numerous educational trails, wild animals (including the famous Polish konik horses), as well as crystal-clear rivers and ponds – all of this makes Zwierzyniec a paradise for nature lovers and walkers seeking solitude away from civilization. Although Zwierzyniec is now an intimate town, it has a rich history. This is where the former residence of the Zamoyski family stood – a powerful lineage that played a crucial role in the history of Poland for centuries. One of the biggest attractions of the city is the unique Church "on water" – a baroque temple from the 18th century built on an island in the middle of a pond, which impresses at any time of the year. Zwierzyniec is also a local cultural centre. Every year, the Summer Film Academy takes place here – an event that attracts film enthusiasts from all over Poland. The intimate cinema "Skarb," with the spirit of a bygone era, exhibitions, concerts, and workshops – all this creates a unique atmosphere of creative tranquillity.
2. KRASNOBRÓD – located in the picturesque Wieprz valley, surrounded by the forests of the Roztocze National Park, Krasnobród is a place that delights with its diversity – both natural, cultural, and recreational. It is the perfect destination for those seeking peace and relaxation, as well as for those who prefer to actively spend time in beautiful natural surroundings. Krasnobród has the status of a health resort, and its microclimate is particularly beneficial for individuals with respiratory and neurological problems. Clean air, the presence of pine forests, and a peaceful atmosphere make the town attractive to patients and tourists seeking respite. Numerous walking trails and nature paths encourage exploration of the surrounding hills, gullies, and reserves. One of Krasnobród's greatest assets is the reservoir with a municipal beach – a well-developed area with water equipment rentals, slides, piers, and relaxation areas. In the summer season, this is the heart of the town's tourist life – ideal for relaxation, family swimming, or kayaking expeditions. Krasnobród also has an interesting past, linked to Queen Marysieńka Sobieska, who underwent treatment here. In memory of these events, a marian sanctuary was established, featuring the baroque church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a Dominican monastery. It is also worth seeing the chapel on the water – charmingly located at the springs, among trees, from which, as tradition holds, water with healing properties was drawn, as well as the nearby Chapel of Saint Roch.

SUSIEC – located in the very heart of Roztocze, on the edge of forests and reserves, this small town captivates with its authenticity, silence, and access to some of the most beautiful natural attractions in the region. Numerous tourist trails intersect here, leading, among other places, to the Szumy Reserve on the River Tanew or the waterfall on the River Jeleń.

4. JÓZEFÓW – located at the foot of Central Roztocze, on the border of two landscape parks. One of the biggest attractions of Józefów is the quarry with a viewing tower. This is a place where nature meets industrial past. A walk on the bottom of the former excavation provides an unparalleled impression – white limestone rocks, steep walls, and traces of past stonework create a raw yet beautiful landscape. From the tower, one of the best views of Roztocze unfolds – green hills, forests, and the town seamlessly integrated into nature. Tourist and cycling trails lead in various directions throughout Roztocze.
5. MAJDAN SOPOCKI – the town lies in the very heart of Central Roztocze. The biggest draw of Majdan Sopocki is the reservoir on the River Sopot, featuring clear water, a beach, a swimming area, and a recreational zone. In summer, this place becomes a centre for relaxation – one can swim, rent a pedal boat or a canoe, grab a bite at one of the dining spots, or simply spread a blanket and relax in the shade of trees. The reservoir is surrounded by forests, giving it a unique, natural atmosphere.
6. CZARTOWE POLE RESERVE – encompasses a section of the Sopot valley – one of the cleanest rivers of Roztocze – which creates picturesque meanders, waterfalls, and cascades in this area. Dense forests dominated by beech, fir, and pine surround it. The air is fragrant with resin, and the path runs alongside the rushing stream, offering unforgettable aesthetic and acoustic experiences. 7. SZCZEBRZESZYN – a small town in Roztocze, known to almost every Pole due to Jan Brzechwa's famous poem. While the beetle has become its symbol, Szczebrzeszyn offers much more – from its fascinating history to its unique multiculturalism, to the natural beauty of Western Roztocze. This is a place that can surprise and charm, and strolling through its streets is a journey through the ages. Szczebrzeszyn has been an important multicultural centre for centuries – Polish, Jewish, Ruthenian, and Armenian communities coexisted here. Traces of this diversity can still be seen today: the historic Orthodox church, Catholic churches, synagogue, and cemeteries remind us of the former cultural richness of the town. Szczebrzeszyn boasts an active cultural life, especially in the summer season. Events such as the Festival of the Capital of the Polish Language, concerts, literary workshops, and exhibitions take place here. During this time, Szczebrzeszyn becomes a meeting place for creators and literature enthusiasts, transforming the town into a vibrant artistic stage.
8. GUCIÓW – a village located between Zwierzyniec and Krasnobród that enchants with its tranquillity, authenticity, and atmosphere of a bygone Roztocze village. The biggest attraction of the village is the Guciów – Guciów Homestead, a unique ethnographic and natural open-air museum. It is not just a museum but a place where rural life from a century ago has been recreated.
9. TOMASZÓW LUBELSKI – in the heart of Eastern Roztocze, along the former trade route leading to Lviv, lies Tomaszów Lubelski – a town with a rich past and a unique atmosphere. Since it was granted town rights in 1621, it has played an important role in the region as a centre of trade, culture, and religion. Today it impresses with its authenticity, monuments, and proximity to nature, making it an excellent starting point for all who wish to explore Roztocze from different perspectives.
10. SZUMY RESERVE ON THE RIVER TANEW – an incredibly picturesque stretch of the Tanew River with its characteristic river thresholds, constituting one of the symbols of Roztocze. A cult place to visit while in Roztocze.
