Turawskie Lake
Lake Turawskie in Opole Voivodeship is a large artificial reservoir created between 1933 and 1939 on the Mała Panew River, covering an area of approximately 20 km2, with a depth reaching up to 13m. The northern and southern shores feature beaches surrounded by the Stobrawsko-Turawskie Forests, which once formed the Silesian Wilderness. Here, coniferous forests dominate with a mix of birch, oak, and spruce. Sailing and fishing (including pike, zander, perch, eel, bream, and carp) are popular activities in this body of water.
Numerous holiday resorts have emerged on the outskirts of the lake, and there is a well-developed network of dining establishments, parking facilities, bicycle rentals, and water equipment rentals. The lake can be circumnavigated by bike along designated trails.
