Troszyn Castle
Tropsztyn Castle - in the small village of Wytrzyszczka, by Lake Czchowskie, right next to the DK 75 road between Brzesko and Nowy Sącz, a small but very charming and interesting castle stands on a slight hill. Its origins date back to the 13th century. It served defensive functions, was the residence of knights, but also allegedly of robbers. In the 15th century, it fell into ruin and became a wreck for over 400 years. Only in the 1990s, at the initiative of the owner, a foundation was established to restore this monument to its former shape.
According to accounts, the former owners of Tropsztyn were related to the American Incas. For this reason, there are legends about hidden Indian treasures (similar stories are also told in nearby Niedzica). By entering the castle grounds, visitors can watch a film about this topic in a specially arranged cinema hall as part of the entry fee.
Of the former furnishings, of course, nothing remains. Visitors can see the rebuilt walls, courtyard, and dungeons. There is a café and a shop selling Peruvian souvenirs. Among the curiosities are specially marked places of radiation or existing underpressure in rock crevices, which could be a sign (!?) of the existence of these treasures. It is also worth climbing the tower, from which there is a beautiful view, including over Lake Czchowskie and the surrounding hills of the Rożnów Foothills.
