Ustka
The footbridge over the Słupia River is probably the biggest tourist attraction in Ustka. It opened in December 2013 and was long awaited by both locals and tourists. It was supposedly supposed to be built since the Second World War, but nothing happened for years. Finally, it was possible to connect people from both sides of the river and open the footbridge. The footbridge connected the western beach with the eastern one, and the residents of Ustka and tourists met and united on the bridge. Initially, a footbridge was built halfway across the Słupia to the pier in the port near the shipyard, but it was dismantled after a few days. It looked almost like an aqueduct. The new footbridge, white in colour and with an unusual round shape, is located near the lighthouse in the port. It is almost like a drawbridge on one side. It opens every hour for 20 minutes and takes about 2 minutes to open.
A new seaside promenade in Ustka has been opened. Initially, on the eastern side of Ustka, it ran from the port to the Dajana descent and to Fala. It was then extended, and beautiful paving stones were laid in a charming half-timbered pattern, leading to the newly constructed area on the dunes, known as the Ustka frying pan, along the Solidarity route. Later, on the western side of Ustka, a promenade bike path was built from Kościelniak Street to the sea, through the coastal pine forest. It might be part of the red coastal tourist trail or the bike trail of the Twisted Tracks. Recently, the promenade was extended, stretching through a stunning pine forest to the Ustka hotel and Royal Baltic along a marvellous avenue of wild rose bushes blooming in pink, then with red berries on the cliffs and dunes overlooking the sea, accompanied by ordinary sea buckthorn and David's buddleia. The promenade also features a playground and a bench dedicated to Irena Kwiatkowska.
