Gdynia
Gdynia - a city in the Pomeranian Voivodeship with nearly 250,000 inhabitants. Together with Gdańsk and Sopot, it forms an agglomeration known as the Tricity. Until the 1920s, Gdynia was a small fishing village; however, rapid development led to a population of over 120,000 before the outbreak of World War II in 1939. It is a port city of commercial and military significance. The central place in Gdynia, which gathers important attractions, is Skwer Kościuszki. Two historical ships are located near it - the frigate "Dar Pomorza" and the destroyer ORP "Błyskawica". On the other side of the square is the Oceanographic Museum and Marine Aquarium, a popular oceanarium where one can see many interesting species of fish and learn about the landscape of the Baltic Sea. The vicinity of the port and marina reflects the unique character of Gdynia.
