Przemyśl is a city in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, located on the banks of the San River. It currently has a population of about 63,000 residents. Before the administrative division, Przemyśl was the capital of the Przemyśl Voivodeship; today it is a city with county rights. Due to its unique location on the hills above the San River and close to the Polish-Ukrainian border, as well as historically being on the border of Poland and Rus, Przemyśl has a rich history. The most interesting places worth seeing in Przemyśl include: the Museum of Bells and Pipes, the Museum of the Przemyśl Region, the Archcathedral, the Tatar Mound, and the forts situated around the city, which made it a fortress since the second half of the 19th century. Additionally, the Society of Friends of Good Soldier Švejk is based here, which annually organizes family picnics and events dedicated to this character, and in winter, there is a ski slope operating here. Przemyśl serves as an important communication hub, with the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing in Medyka located just a few kilometers away, and there is also an interesting train station housed in a historic building from the 19th century.
